I pay for 2-3 days service and its been 7 days its still on its way

I am usually pleased with my Parcel Monkey parcel deliveries. This one, however, was a big worry. I shipped a birthday gift using the USPS 1-2 day service. I didn’t know that meant 2 days in each USPS regional center. Why would a small package going from TN to IN go to and fro across mountains to Greensboro NC before going to IN? I suggest the USPS invest in some compasses. My birthday present took 7 days to get there and missed the birthday by 3 days.
