Ahead of time delivery and easy custom clearance

From parcel drop off to a local store to notifications, customs clearance, everything went well. Parcel was delivered ahead of time. There was a DHL India website where I had to enter receive my information for custom clearance. This was not disclosed to me. However, someone told me about it and I filled out recepint info, so customs were easily cleared. Parcel Monkey should have informed me about this DHL India website.

The worst experience so far. Although there was very strict lockdown in Bangalore and also option of clearing the parcel online, the team from DHL Bangalore office kept insisting my wife to come and clear it personally even after repeatedly confirming that there were no expensive items that would attract customs duty. After one week when I arrived from Germany to Bangalore I headed straight to DHL office to clear the cargo, after a long flight I was made to wait for 3 hrs. And finally got it cleared. When I understood from customs official that my personal presence was actually not required.
I would never again use DHL courier service!
